The laws regarding to-go alcohol from restaurants and bars that were relaxed last year during the pandemic have now been made permanent. Starting Saturday, it will be legal for those establishments that serve alcohol to sell cocktails and other alcoholic beverages to-go. There are several limiting rules in place, however. The to-go container cannot have any opening for a straw and it must be marked to identify that it contains alcohol. Additionally, a meal must be purchased at the same time.
Also, the law establishing that alcohol sales on Sundays cannot start until 11:30 a.m. has been changed. The time has been moved to 6:00 a.m. so you don’t have to stock up on Saturdays in preparation for your Chiefs party anymore!
